These are some of my latest paintings, preparing to put some in upcoming competitions like the Brisbane Ekka (August) and GoArt at Grafton in June. The capsicums is a little exercise in still life, not complete yet!
Paintings on display at Sergio's Salon, Toowong. Changing from landscape and seascape to try elegant figures!
Last week I took my easel and paints to Yamba and ventured out into the open to paint the beach. It was quite challenging but fun, see photos. Now I have to complete the paintings at home and try to keep the spontaneity of the brushstrokes!
Sergio's hair salon in Dean St, Toowong, has kindly allowed me to hang some paintings in the open area outside the salon for public display. I am very grateful to have another venue to show my work and I am excited to now have three paintings there, see below.
My latest paintings are a bit more Impressionistic than my usual paintings. This is my impression of the paperbacks near Back Beach at Minnie Water after rain. I want to keep it loose but still a few finishing touches needed!
These are my paintings from the workshop I attended at Mt Tamborine on 10 and 11 August, tutored by the talented artist Herman Pekel. I am excited to use the new techniques that I have learned, using oil and acrylic, on watercolour paper, oil sketch paper and canvas - very exciting!
The Western Suburbs Painting Group, of which I am a member, is having a group exhibition at the Old Friary, Brookfield Road, from now until 24 August, with an afternoon tea on Sunday 9 August from 2pm to 4pm, and an opportunity to meet the artists. Hope you can come along!
Just a few touches and they are complete, just need to be framed and delivered this weekend. I have focussed on different light effects like reflections and shadows.
My name is Anne Strambi and I am an artist, mainly painting with oils. I am inspired by the natural environment. I love to paint the effects of light and shadow and the changing moods of nature and ourselves.
