Two new paintings for upcoming art shows, still need to do the final touches - highlights and details and then a frame to display them. Enjoying the process!.
My painting Ripples and Sunlight sold at the exhibition. Hoping to take part in another group exhibition later this year.
Two day watercolour workshop with Herman Pekel at Mt Tamborine. I enjoyed the challenge of watercolour paitning, so different from my usual oils. You can get some lovely random effects, see the two paintings attached - my efforts of boats and a beach scene.
Great painting workshop in northern NSW early October with Todd Whisson and a lovely group of artists. So good to paint outside, we were lucky to have good weather most of the time.
Stradbroke Island subject completed.
I wanted to create a sunny impression of the scene with the light ripples in the water and the shadows between the cliff.
Initial sketch and blocking in shapes and darks for a commission based on Stradbroke subject. I enjoy playing with the texture of the rocks. Will post more as I go along!
More of my favourite beachy subjects in my new paintings - still lots more to do before they are ready to display but so far I am happy with progress!
These are the paintings I entered in the 2017 Wooli Art Show, and I was very exciting to win the Best of show with the painting Pandanus! All three paintings sold at the show. Very excited to work on some more paintings for the upcoming art shows.
